reality check

A friend called the other day. After months not knowing how she and some other mutual friends are doing right now in Shah Alam, she finally called to check on me. I tried to call her several times but she changed her number. It was great to heard from her as she has always been that quirky, happy-go-lucky kinda girl.

She invited me to come to her convo. I was touched really. And I was forced to face my own reality. I am 22 going on 23 and yet, still doing my Diploma while my friends are moving on rapidly with their own lives. A friend of mine who is in the same batch as me is already engaged and she will be getting married by the end of this year. Yet another friend got hitched. It's not that I'm in a hurry to get married or something like that, but this kind of thing just got me thinking one thing: ADULTHOOD. And all the responsibilities waiting.

It's a big and tough world out there, no doubt about it. Here I'm wondering, am I ready to take on the world? Am I ready to step out of my comfort zone and shoulder all the responsibilities of being an adult? But then again, ready or not, the time is fast approaching. And I have to be brave and strong. I have seven siblings looking up at me, so I have to set a good example. So far, I think Angah is doing a much better job than me. More disciplined than I am *tee-hee*.

Angah, Kakak, Adik, and Ecah is doing so fine that it makes me feel proud of them. I think they will do just great in the future, and I hope to be just the same... Insya-Allah...

  1. being an adult is fun when u hv all those responsibilities to hold.. but then be a good adult.. a good citizen.. a good daughter..a good sister.. becoming a good wife and mother.... and dun be a thrash... all the best to u.. and welcome to the adult world..

  2. heartless devilish: trying my best!

Words could heal... or it could hurt or maybe, it won't bring any difference. Either way, just type away!
