love at first sight

I was browsing through IKEA's online catalog when I stumbled upon this little baby:

And I went "Oh. My. God." I really did. I fell in love. Instantly. My thoughts were of that most of my books are currently being kept in a box. Where I cannot see them. Where I cannot touch them as often as I want to. This bookcase is the answer to my prayer. Oh, thank God!

I immediately YM-ed the Hubster. And he said the bookcase is "Comel." Hahaha! Comel or not, I want this one. THIS ONE. Even though I do not know where to put it yet, I want it right away. Placement is not a problem, we'll figure it out eventually.

Before this, we lived in a smaller house. A townhouse. We don't want to clutter it up too much with unnecessary things. But now that we moved to a slightly bigger house, well... gotta do what you gotta do, right? And the first thing I want is a bookcase? You betcha!

I will be adding another pile of books soon, anyway. What? Haven't you heard? The Big Bad Wolf is having another round of it's crazy books sale, crazier this time as for this round, the books are going at cheaper price. Fictions will cost you only RM 5.00. RM 5.00. Can you even believe that? Gawd, I can't wait.

Ladies and gentlemen, one shall never underestimate the Big Bad Wolf. Never.

Why, you ask. Here is why.

Book lovers, go crazy.

Big Bad Wolf redefines epic. Big Bad Wolf redefines awesome. And yes, I am simply in love with the Big Bad Wolf. Always have. What's not to love? Books. Lots and lots of books with discounted price up to 95%. Yeap, you read that right. 95%.

This time around, the Big Bad Wolf is coming to town toting over 3 million books. 3 MILLION. I kid you not. The sale will be held at the Mines Convention Center from 07th until 23rd December 2012. This is the sale you won't want to miss. This is the world's BIGGEST book sale. That is how wicked the Wolf is.

Get ready, people. Arm thyself with trolleys, boxes, sacks or whatever you need to carry your loot come this 07th December. That's 2 weeks away, by the way. Oh. I have the preview pass, so I'm gonna go a day earlier than you lot. Tee-hee. 

It doesn't matter that I'm broke.

wordless wednesday #7 - howling is absolutely necessary

he's baaaaack!

Aarghhhh! He's back! He's back!

The BIG. BAD. WOLF is back, with a bite, y'all. Remember this? Yeah, well, the sale is BAAAACKKK! As you can see from the pictures above, he is back, more menacing than ever, threatening to burn the hole in your pocket. I hyperventilate every time I see the pictures they posted on their Facebook profile. And I'm going. I don't care.

Paperback novels from famous authors going at RM 8.00 each, which book lovers could ever resist? I certainly can not. Hyperventilate, remember?

My advice is to go early so you can grab all the famous titles. And bring a box, a trolley or whatever that will make it easier for you to lug all those books around. Trust me, you will be needing it.

Okay, Wani, here's the picture you've been waiting for...

My stash from the Big Bad Wolf books sale.

One book is missing, though. A Lisa Kleypas, because my aunt is reading it. All those books are RM 8.00 each except Chicken Soup for The Soul which costs me RM 10.00. Still a damn good bargain, eh? I'll let you do the maths for the amount I spent on those books.

I went there on the second day of the sale and it was packed with people. Maneuvering around the tables to grab all those titles took some skill, and effort. I could not find any Stephanie Laurens at first but a Malay lady overheard me complaining to my aunt and suddenly, she put the Stephanie Laurens' book on my increasingly towering books.

"You cari Stephanie Laurens, right?" she smiled. I could not thank her enough. Even a couple of girls were asking me where did I find that Laurens' book. I was lucky. Phew.

And each book costs RM 8.00. Freaking RM 8.00, can you believe that? I wanted to whoop in joy when I saw that the books are new (not secondhand) with that given price. No better deal than that, for sure. One Stephanie Laurens could easily set me back around RM 30.00 from Kinokuniya or Borders but at the sale, I could get at least 4 books for RM 30.00. Damn fabulous.

And I dropped in to BookXcess to pick up my prize...

big bad temptation

You can never have enough books. That is, if you are a bookworm an avid reader, like moi. God knows just how much books are strewn all over my bedroom. I've got a bag full of books from Wani, waiting to be read. And then I saw this...

Boy oh boy oh boy!

More books! At discounted price! It's like having an early Christmas. Wait. My mother MUST not know about this. Matila kena bebel if she finds out. Not that she discourage reading. She'll be crazy to find the space for the books.

How smart to have the sale at the end of the month, though. I'm already seeing the flying (fleeing?) RM signs. I have to check it out, anyway. I just have to. It's a sale. For books. I'm a shopaholic. Of a different kind.
