music of my life

That, my friends, is my ever faithful companion along my journey to work every single day. It's a gift actually from someone and a gift I valued so much. And in case you haven't figured it out yet, it's an MP3 player. It may not be an i-Pod but I'm happy with it. I use it to listen to music on the train only, anyway. And to block that annoying the-train-is-delayed announcement.

I can't remember exactly how many songs there are in it, more or less, 400 songs. For me, that is quiet a lot actually. I started off with around 200 - 300 songs at first, then my sister added more songs to it and it kinda stuck. We kinda have the same taste in music, thankfully.

When it comes to music, I have some kind of a permanent playlist that I stick to every now and then. I have songs that I always love, that will always be my favorite. And that I will always put in my MP3 player or phone or CD. These are some of my all-time favorite songs:
  • Solo A Tu Lado Quiero Vivir - Jyve V (loosely translated as I Want To Spend My Whole Life With You, this song is the opening number and the theme song for the telenovela Juana's Miracle/Juana La Virgen. This is my ultimate all-time favorite song)
  • My Little Princess - DBSK (this song reminds me of someone who always call me with that name)
  • Soul Provider - Michael Bolton (how can you not love Michael Bolton??)
  • Because You Loved Me - Celine Dion (this was the first Celine's song I heard and I've become a fan since)
  • Goodbye - Fly To The Sky (I can't really understand the meaning of this song because it is in Korean but the video for this song is really beautiful and the vocals... awesome!)
  • Dreaming of You - Selena (I can't point out exactly why I love this song but it really is a nice song)
  • Ruang Rindu - Letto (ahh... this song... easy to the ear... and will always remind me of that someone)
  • I'll Be - Edwin McCain (I don't think anyone remembered or knew this song back then but then, it appeared in A Cinderella Story and suddenly the song is popular. I've known this song since... forever!)
  • One Sweet Day - Boyz II Men feat. Mariah Carey (this song just fills me with emotion)
  • What Hurts The Most - Rascal Flatts (nowadays, the Rascal Flatts is an essential to my playlist)
  • When You Tell Me That You Love Me - Julio Iglesias & CoCo Lee (I don't know how many version there is for this song but I love this one particularly because of Julio Iglesias. Simply divine!)
There are some other songs as well but I'm afraid I'll bore you to tears if I would to go on. There are some Indo-pop as well which I love. And then there are few Anuar Zain's songs. His songs are... I don't know... kinda like soul provider? Sheesh! And Hindi songs. Yes, people. Hindi. As in Bollywood. As in Datuk Shah Rukh Khan. And I understand Hindi a bit actually. That's the effect of too much Bollywood movies. And I love it!

There are actually quiet a number of Korean songs in the MP3, thanks to my sister, which I don't even know who the singers are or what's the meaning of the songs. But, hey, whoever says you need to understand the song to feel it? Music is universal, after all.

So, what's on your playslist?
