girls don't fart

It was one of those evenings, we were sitting back after dinner, me in front of my laptop and hubster sitting beside me. We were talking, nothing serious, just having our usual post-dinner chitchat. When suddenly, I farted. Audibly.

Yes, I farted.

Hubster and I looked at each other and we laughed.

"Eh, orang perempuan tak kentutlah!" hubster elbowed me gently as he laughed.
"Orang perempuan mana tak kentut? Tu alien tu, bukan orang!" I poked him in the rib. He laughed some more, amused.

Girls don't fart, eh? There you go. Myth debunked. Please, no need to thank me.

good news

Dear friends,

Thanks to all your prayers, Baby Aliff will be discharged from the hospital by tomorrow, insya Allah. Baby Aliff is still in recuperating process but he is now much much better than the last 3 weeks. He's an active baby, always moving around.

He was moved from the ICU last Sunday as his fever subsided and his breathing improved. He can move both his limbs but his right limbs will need to be strengthened. Except from a little phlegm in his throat, Aliff is doing great now.

Maybe I'll put a picture or two of him soon here. Until then, thank you so much for all the prayers and encouragement given to both Aliff and his mother. May Allah bless us all.

***************IMPORTANT***************

Baby Aliff needs a baby cot/crib. Any of you out there has any to spare please let me know ASAP. Spread the news, my friends.

I really don't know what to tell you about apart from how great Aidilfitri was. Most of you probably saw the pictures tagged by my sisters on the Facebook. You can also see some of the photos here and here. My Aidilfitri was, in every sense of word, fantastic. How's yours?

I gotta get back to work now. I'm running out of words. I'll write longer when time permits. In the meantime, take care y'all.

salam ramadhan

The holy month is here yet again. And I feel like I can take a very deep breath now that Ramadhan is here. Why? I don't know. I just feel... relieved. And I wish for an uneventful Ramadhan this year.

To all of you, my Muslim friends, I wish you

Salam Ramadhan Al-Mubarak
"May this Ramadhan be a blessed one for all of us."

And Suria's family will be in KL on the first Ramadhan. It's a very nice way to start Ramadhan; with family.

Now I can seriously focus on my diet. Err. I think.

entertainment value

I've been reading THIS blok blog for quite some time now. I enjoy Diyana's writing style immensely. She's funny, witty and sarcastic. And her son, Miki is super duper adorable. Bukan nak mengampu, but it's a fact.

One entry that got my attention is an entry regarding TMPoint. Go read it. And read the comments. Please do read the comments. The comments give you the real kick. Tapi kalau kamu orang TM, the kick may be defined in a different manner. My advice? Take it as constructive criticism. Tak payah nak butthurt sangat, like certain people. And even if you're not happy enough, refrain from obscenities or risk being labeled as a brainless jerk. Just saying, you know.

By the way, when you read the comments, please bear in mind that Puan Diyana is:
  • Married,
  • With one child
  • And she wasn't referring to the entire TM organization.
Happy weekend-ing, folks!

simon 'grumpy' cowell & paula 'minnie' abdul

I grabbed that picture above from today's The Star.

And by Lord, to see Grumpy holding that placard, I could not stop laughing! Really. Grumpy and Simon Cowell. I never even thought of it. The picture spoke thousand words, my friends. And one of them is "Paula Abdul's dress is so freaking ugly it makes Grumpy looks cute". What was she thinking? Trying to outdo Minnie Mouse? Pfft. You ain't growing younger, missy, even with Botox!

Grumpy at the back, though, has made my day. You are MY idol!

2008: wrapping it all up

How time just flies, no?

2008 has finally come to an end. And what a year it has been. As for me, I'll remember 2008 in more ways than other. It has been one heck of a year that swiftly passed me by, but not without making an impact or two. I made friends and lose some. Not that I have any regrets, though. I found new love which makes life a bit more wonderful to live. I made mistakes that I know will come to haunt me in the future. I scored some points that I am sure will make me smile every now and then.

We grow older wiser as the year goes by. We grow mature. We open up our mind a little bit more. We live and learn. Some lessons in life, they come in a hard way but hey, we survived another year. Lots of happenings here and there along 2008. The political world provided us with more than we can bear, that to a point, is downright frustrating and disgusting. Wonder what await us in 2009. The so-called-berapa-kali-mau-postpone-daa takeover maybe? Oh. Someone is finally stepping down, isn't it? We wait for that day to come everyday.

And in the midst of the festive season and as the new year approaches, some people decided to go on a killing spree. Animal is not the word for these people as they are the worst evil of all evils. Forget not the souls and the lives of our brothers and sisters, who are living in terror every single second, fearing for the safety of their families. May Allah be with them. Don't forget to count our blessings, my dear friends.

To all my friends...

To all my readers, silent or not...

To all Malaysian...

To all the people of the world...

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2009

May the year ahead be filled with happiness and joy
May the year ahead brings more success and fortune
May the year ahead be better than the last
May the year ahead teaches us more than anything
May the year ahead gives us more and more precious memories

zikri's day out

Last Saturday, my sisters and I took this little guy for his first ever Komuter ride. Well, initially, our plan was to have Big Breakfast at McD in KL Sentral. But then Adik wanted to bring this little guy along. When he first got onto the train, he cried! He was scared, I suppose. Adik was quick to the rescue by giving him sweet. Phew! Once we were in KL Sentral, he was running about, going up and down the escalator. But, still, a tad too quiet.

See? No that cheeky smile of him! Still cute, though.

Maybe next time we'll bring along his sister so that he won't feel awkward/scared/whatever.

one little notice...

Dear friends,

I apologize for the lack of updates for this blog as I'm a bit busy right now. I've been neglecting this blog for quiet some times, I know. Sigh. I'll be back soon, anyhow. Oh. And the sequel entry to Survey #1 is well on its way. I'll have it posted anytime soon, promise.

In the meantime, have fun, be safe and enjoy life. Happy weekend, everyone!

Love,

Ummi

just a quickie...

Ooookayyy... I'm still having my Raya post under maintenance. Lots of story to tell and even loads more picture to upload. If I'm lucky enough; that being Blogspot is not acting up yet again, it will be done by this week.

In the meantime, you can always go to my sister's blog, Nothing But The Truth (please do visit her blog and look at the the pictures she took. She's a great photographer) and my cousin's Addicted 2 Coffee for stories on our Hari Raya celebration. The best Hari Raya ever, I must say. Stay tuned.

a quickie

It's September. Ramadhan is just around the corner (just can't wait). Yesterday was my sister's birthday, so here wishing you a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS! A year older and wiser. May all your dreams come true. September is the month of birthdays. Lots of friends and family celebrating their birthday this month. Good thing I have it all on my phone, or else I'll be forgetting about it *grins*.

Currently reading another book titled 'Stripped' by Brian Freeman. A thriller. So far it's kinda interesting. The main character (a male) partnered up with a transsexual (did I spell it correctly?).
Reread 'Bet Me' by Jen Crusie yet again. I just love that book!

That's all for now, folks! I'll be blogging soon enough.
